DeMarcus Ware is experiencing some anniversaries this year.

2025 marks the 10-year anniversary of the Denver Broncos last winning a Super Bowl. That Denver defense was a formidable front that mitigated an incredible Carolina Panthers offense led by Cam Newton and Ware, along with Von Miller and Co., stopped it outright in the game of all games.

At that point DeMarcus had been in the NFL for a long time — a decade in fact. Ware was a part of the 2005 NFL Draft Class and was obviously selected by the Dallas Cowboys. Before leaving them to join the Broncos, Ware became the all-time sack leader in Dallas franchise history.

Needless to say it has been an incredible 20 years for DeMarcus Ware. Amazingly, it all began 20 years ago today as he was selected on April 23rd, 2005. Time really flies.

Thanks to our friends at Crown Royal, I was able to catch up with Ware this week to talk about his career, the NFL Draft and much more. You can watch our conversation below.

Ware always carried a sense of giving to the community while a member of the Cowboys and it is clear that this disposition has rippled into his post-playing days. I’ve had the pleasure of speaking with him a number of times over the years, he never sleeps when it comes to helping people around him.

As noted Ware joined us on behalf of Crown Royal and a partnership he has with them centered around the NFL Draft.

Recently he has teamed up with Crown Royal’s Hall of Heroes which is a new partnership between The Bob Woodruff Foundation, Crown Royal and the NFL’s Salute to Service Initiative. Before the first round of the NFL Draft, the Crown Royal Hall of Heroes will enshrine 32 extraordinary veterans in a special ceremony led by NFL legend DeMarcus Ware and Dave Woodruff, co-founder of the Bob Woodruff Foundation, at historic Lambeau Field. Following the ceremony, each of the veterans will enjoy a VIP experience at the Draft.

Our thanks to DeMarcus and Crown Royal for the time!
