Paula Creamer announced as Assistant Captain for 2026 U.S. Solheim Cup Team

The world of golf is constantly spinning and matters in both the present as well as future are always being tended to.

On Tuesday the United States Solheim Cup Team took care of both at once in announcing Paula Creamer as one of Angela Stanford’s assistant captains for next year’s squad. Paula joins Kristy McPherson in the assistant captains ranking for the event that will take place at Bernardus Golf in the Netherlands in September of 2026.

“Paula’s passion for her country and the Solheim Cup are infectious,” said Stanford. “I truly enjoyed being Paula’s teammate when we played on Solheim Cups and when we worked as assistants together in Virginia last year. Paula is a winner and a leader and somebody I want in the room every time at every Solheim Cup.”

Paula Creamer is one of the more decorated LPGA players in recent memory. The 2010 U.S. Women’s Open Champion has 10 career wins and has appeared in 7 Solheim Cups while representing the red, white and blue. She was also notably the youngest American player during her first appearance (youngest at the time to be clear).

This is a wise move from Captain Angela Stanford as Creamer’s experience can only help the U.S. side while in enemy territory.

Paula seems quite happy about it.

“I am honored to have been asked by Angela to be one of her assistant captains when she leads the U.S. Team next year in the 2026 Solheim Cup. Wearing the Red, White and Blue has been an important part of my career. I have pledged to Angela to do whatever she needs me to do to help her and the U.S. Team represent the United States well and ultimately retain the Cup for another two years,” said Creamer. “Winning overseas isn’t easy, but Angela will have the U.S. Team ready and will get the job done. 2026 can’t come fast enough. Go USA!!!”

Next fall should be fun.
