The U.S. Women’s Open presented by Ally begins this week at Erin Hills and marks the second major championship of the LPGA season. Legacy is on the line which is what will make it all the more epic to watch unfold.

Legacy is obviously associated with history and it should be noted that this tournament is setting a historical mark before any single shot is even hit. The U.S. Women’s Open is in fact presented by Ally and Ally Financial is a big reason for making this the case as we discussed last week...

This week will see the largest purse in women’s golf history.

All told this week’s purse for the Women’s Open sits at a staggering $12M. That is an absurd amount of money and it is great to see fr the women’s game that has been in sore need of it.

The financial backing of Ally is obviously critical here, but so are the forward steps that the Tour has been taking in recent years to grow their game. It stands to reason that this will continue under new commissioner Craig Kessler, this is certainly the hope, as the players our Tour are certainly deserving.

Bring on all of the fun at Erin Hills.
