The Genesis Scottish Open is in the books and Chris Gotterup is the name at the top of the chapter for 2025.

Gotterup finished 15-under at one of the more fun tournaments on the calendar, two clear of both Marco Penge and Rory McIlroy. It marked the second PGA Tour win for Gotterup and notably clinched him a spot in next week’s Open Championship at Royal Portrush.

Gotterup caught fire during Friday’s round as he posted a score of 9-under which vaulted him into serious contention. Even par on Saturday made things a bit shaky, but his 66 on Sunday was enough to get it done with a little bit of room for error. Just enough.

Prior to Sunday the best finish of the season for Chris was a T12 at the Zurich so it is fair to say that he had been looking for a breakthrough moment in 2025. That moment is here and again it will see him tee it up in the final major championship of the season as a result of it.

Kudos to Chris Gotterup. He will be remembering Sunday for a long time.
