Robert Griffin III is doing incredible work with the content-driven OT7 football league

When it comes to football there is never enough to go around. We are all counting down the days to the fall to have it fill our lives every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Don’t forget Thursday and Mondays either.

Football is incredible because of the role that it plays in our lives. The draw that it is determines moods and emotions for an entire week, both for fans and players alike.

Relative to players, football can obviously be a lucrative business. If you can succeed and thrive at the game then you can position yourself to do well both during and after your playing days, especially in today’s world with all sorts of opportunities for content and creation. This is where OT7 is doing an amazing job as they are looking to help young players get a handle on all of this at the earliest possible level.

A little about OT7, per their official website:

OT7 is a content-first football league that spotlights the electric personalities and insane athleticism of the best high school football players in the country.

The distinct format is a fast-paced, helmet-off style of football. With over 30% of OT7 players drafted into the NFL, every game is a glimpse into the future of college and pro football. OT7 alumni include Tennessee’s Nico Iamaleava, Oregon’s Dante Moore, Ohio State’s Jeremiah Smith and Michigan’s Bryce Underwood. NFL legends are also getting involved to coach the next generation including Robert Griffin III, Torrey Smith, Ryan Clark and Michael Crabtree.

Consider Jeremiah Smith as an example. He was a star on the national champions last season and now decorates the cover of the video game College Football 26. He is in a position to succeed on the field and that is developing into opportunities for him to succeed off of it. With Smith still only being 19 years old, there is a level of education that should accompany him so that he is prepared for this world, this solar system that he is at the center of.

OT7 teaches these players what they need to know through their league, partly because of the coaches that they have working in it. Robert Griffin III, former Heisman Trophy winner and second overall pick, knows all about how quickly life can change when you are good at football and tries to impart the wisdom he has gained into his team. RGIII was kind enough to speak to me recently about the league and his involvement in it in an interview you can watch below:

The league includes names like Cam Newton and Geno Smith as other coaches as well. Having experience from players who have lived at the center of both the college football world and NFL at large is invaluable and something that today’s youth can seriously benefit from.

There is a very strong possibility that a player in and around OT7 at the moment will be dominating at both the collegiate and professional levels soon enough.

Here’s to hoping they are ready for it. If OT7 has any say in it, they will be.
