The United States Ryder Cup team made captain news on Wednesday. Sort of.
2025 Ryder Cup: Gary Woodland named Vice Captain for United States side
Gary Woodland is officially the newest Ryder Cup Vice Captain for the Americans.

It was announced Wednesday morning that Gary Woodland will serve as the fifth Vice Captain for Keegan Bradley’s American squad. Whether or not Woodland is doing so with the Captain also playing in the field (which should be the case) remains to be seen.
Gary Woodland has had a solid season to date so far on the PGA Tour. He has a handful of top 25 finishes on the season and notably finished T2 at the Texas Children’s Houston Open which Min Woo Lee won.
Woodland comes in as Vice Captain number five and therefore the last one who will accompany Keegan’s group. Gary officially joins Jim Furyk, Kevin Kisner, Webb Simpson and Brandt Snedeker as the Vice Captains on the American side.
As noted the most pressing subject relative to Ryder Cup captaincy is whether or not the United States will feature Keegan as a part of the playing group as well. Until that news is official it is going to be the headlining question that everyone in the golf world has.
