When the world of Formula 1 reaches Bahrain every year we are astounded at the developments and innovation they have put forth in their latest offerings to the sport of racing. Careful and methodical calculations are unveiled for life at large to see and be in awe of.

This is what the experience was like for me recently when I had the pleasure of talking to Charley Hudak, Head of Footwear for Sun Day Red. Golf has come to know Sun Day Red as being affiliated with Tiger Woods and like the greatest golfer of all time they are here to push the limits of greatness. And then some.

Sun Day Red unveiled a new all-purpose shoe, Osprey, on Tuesday and it is anything and everything a golfer could want in their lives.

Charley was kind enough to share the process (in terms that yours truly could understand) of what went into the design for Osprey and in the process I learned even more about Sun Day Red. As Tiger’s brand, the goal is exceeding any and every kind of bar. When you or I put these shoes on we want to feel like Tiger. We want to swing like him. We want to move and float and walk and follow through the way that he does and Osprey offers us that opportunity.

What separates this design from past ones for Sun Day Red is that Osprey is designed to be all-purpose. You can put these in on the morning and head out to work, catch a gym session during the day and head out to the links for a round of golf when you clock out. They are professional-looking so you can even head to a meeting after you break par (obviously) or out to cocktails. Osprey works for anything and everything.

The walls of history are decorated with Tiger’s accomplishments, but the footsteps of the future belong to all of us as we cover them in Osprey footprints. Charley explained that Sun Day Red was able to merge these qualities in the aesthetic of the design.

We all know that Tiger has dominated the world of golf for multiple decades now. When you walk in your Osprey you are carrying a semblance of that history with you. Design elements exist to honor his iconic logo obviously, but also the sport of golf that he prowled through.

Among my favorite details on the surface of this shoe are the four lines on the back that signify golf’s four major championships, a huge part of the territory claimed by Tiger throughout his career.

Being able to channel this disposition on the golf course is one thing, but as noted Osprey allows for all-purpose utilization so you can feel that way anywhere you want. The technical design allows for the same athletic prowess and success to be felt on all sorts of surfaces and for the shoe’s lightweight stature to keep the sensation of floating underneath you at all times.

You can look into the Osprey for yourself right here.

Adventure, success and confidence await.
