Lottie Woad did her best Rory McIlroy impression during the opening round of the AIG Women’s Open.

To be clear, she did her best impression in the sense that she had a very solid and impressive round. What we are talking about here though is a bit more... unique.

After venturing off the beaten path (so to speak) Lottie found herself in a position trying to chip out of the intense rough that links golf is known for. In assessing her situation she found two errant balls, the type of thing you simply do not see in professional events.

Here’s the thing. We literally did just see this with Rory McIlroy during the Open Championship. Rory’s situation was a bit more unique as he discovered a plugged ball as it emerged following his actual swing. It was one of the more wild things anyone had ever seen in any level of golf.

Lottie finished her opening round 1-over so she has some work to do if she wants to continue her winning ways across the proverbial pond. Hopefully she doesn’t run into any more errant golf balls in the process.
