It is major championship week for the LPGA Tour as the Evian Championship will get underway in France. With the Genesis Scottish Open happening this week as well and the Open Championship following next week... we are in the middle of quite the time in the world of golf.

European golf is what is the rage at the moment to be specific, if that were not obvious, and it actually began last week with the KPMG Women’s Irish Open. Amateur Lottie Woad walked away the winner and did so rather impressively as she cleared the field by six strokes.

Woad is the number one ranked amateur in the world and rapidly rising on the golf scene. That she won last week in general was astounding, but that she dominated the field was really quite impressive.

Lottie is a sponsor’s invite for this week’s Evian Championship so she will officially be in the field contending. It will hardly be easy to repeat last week’s performance and clear the field by such a wide margin, but when you are rolling in golf sometimes things can really go your way.

We will see when action gets underway later in the week.
