Ready for Primetime

One of the players the world is most excited to see debut at the 2026 World Cup is Cole Palmer. With England always a fan favorite to do well in any major tournament, “Cold Palmer” is arguably the most exciting player on that team. He has taken the world by storm the past three years. Now, fans are ready to see him step onto the ultimate stage and be one of the world’s best.

Cole Palmer is an attacking midfielder who plays club soccer for Chelsea. He began with Manchester City, debuting with the first team in 2020 but only having 19 appearances in three seasons. When he moved to Chelsea in 2023, he immediately had a breakout season for the Blues with his play for the team resulting in his first call-up for England in 2023.

A Dynamic Playmaker

Palmer is dangerous through the middle or on either flank. He can fly past defenders or use his technique to embarrass opponents. He makes smart runs and can dribble through a crowd or pass to open teammates with precision. On top of everything, he has the tendency to meet the moment, no matter how big it may be… and he can do it with flair. He loves the big-time matches as his play elevates during those moments. His performances in important matches are what makes people so excited to see what Palmer can do this summer in the World Cup.

Arriving on the Biggest Stage

Palmer is one of the players who will experience the drama of the World Cup for the first time. In 14 caps so far for England, he has two goals and an assist. He’s hoping to really burst onto the international scene during the tournament and introduce his shivering celebration to the masses.

England at the World Cup

Is it coming home? England believe so, but it’s still going to be tough for them to deliver when it counts. Palmer hopes to have a breakout tournament as Tuchel looks for his preferred attackers. In any case that his number is called, he hopes to produce goals to steer England toward a first World Cup title in 60 years.
