The Rockets are on pace to shatter their own three-point record

The record is 23. They’ve got 13 at halftime.

A couple weeks ago, the Houston Rockets looked on pace to break the NBA record for three-pointers in a blowout win over the Warriors. Golden State coach Mark Jackson wouldn't have it, though. After the Rockets got a little too hammy for Jackson's liking, he instructed his players to foul intentionally, running out the clock and freezing Houston's three-pointer count at 23, tying the record.

So, the gunnin' Rockets missed their chance at setting a new mark that night, but they're back at it tonight in D.C. At halftime, they've already hit 13 three-pointers on 28 attempts. Chandler Parsons leads the way with four makes in six tries. That puts them well on pace to break their own record...unless Randy Wittman's Wizards choose to meddle with history (or, you know, play better defense in the second half).

For reference: The record for threes in one half is 14, which the Rockets tied that night against the Warriors. Something to keep an eye on.
