102-year-old Frenchman breaks his own world cycling record

History was made Friday, as 102-year-old Robert Marchand of France set a world record for farthest distance traveled on a bicycle in one hour by a 100+ year-old person. Marchand covered almost 27 kilometers (16.7 miles) in that span, to break the previous record set in 2012. The previous record was, of course, held by Marchand himself, since there aren’t that many 100-year-old people on the planet, let alone 100-year-old people who can ride bicycles, let alone 100-year-old people who can ride bicycles continuously for an hour. According to the article, the world record for distance cycled in one hour is 30.88 miles by Ondrej Sosenka, who was 29 when he set the record in 2005. So, by the equation I just invented, Sosenka’s 30.88 miles per hour x 29 years = 895.5 awesome points while Marchand’s 16.7 miles per hour x 102 years = 1703.4 awesome points equals ROBERT MARCHAND IS THE GREATEST BICYCLE RIDER ON EARTH.
