Peter Dyakowski is an offensive lineman for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the CFL, a former mullet-wearing champion at LSU, and was a contestant on Monday night’s Jeopardy. Despite a nice rally out of a negative score, Dyakowski found himself trailing headed into Final Jeopardy. Then came an apparent godsend: COLLEGE SPORTS QUESTION!

The Orangemen are neither a Christian denomination nor an Ivy League team.
That’s a clever question, I think, and you can probably think of the answer with a bit of consideration. I’ll give you until the end of the post.
Meanwhile, Dyakowski had some trouble:
I suppose an LSU football player has absolutely no reason to know anything about stinky-ass Syracuse or the stinky-ass Ivy League or whether stinky-ass Syracuse has anything to do with the stinky-ass Ivy League. And hey, Dyakowski wagered nothing on his answer, so it didn’t matter.
Meanwhile, another contestant had to say a racial slur to correctly answer a clue Monday night!

Oh, it was the Penn Quakers by the way. And the Ivy League *does* have a weird number of color-named teams. Never thought about that.
Update: To Dyakowski’s credit, “Orangemen” does refer to a religious group of sorts. Syracuse are just the “Orange” now and definitely aren’t in the Ivy League, but this answer wasn’t totally out of nowhere.
