This video of Stephen Curry 360-dunking in slow motion is so, so mesmerizing
A few things that stand out to me here:
1. Yeah, Stephen Curry is very athletic and pretty good at dunking, even if he doesn’t throw down much in games. We knew this.
1a. In Googling for evidence that Stephen Curry is indeed a fine dunker, I found this video entitled “Stephen Curry Crazy And1 Dunk Against Duke,” which is, in fact, Stephen Curry shooting a free throw against Furman. Anyway, here you go:
2. The replies to this video across @NBA platforms fall into three categories: People saying LeBron is better, people insisting that rim has been lowered for Warriors layup lines (it has not, why would would that ever be the case?), and people insisting Curry do nothing but shoot threes:
This is the NBA MVP’s equivalent of “stick to sports,” I guess.
3. This is so transfixing, is it not? I love these slow-mo videos as an opportunity to observe the fine mechanics of athletic excellence, but the sound here is also extremely soothing. I might pop headphones on for my next nap and fall asleep to the white noise of Curry dunking in slow motion. It’s like being underwater.
