Bayern Munich crushed Fortuna Düsseldorf 5-0 to remain perfect through their first eight matches. Coupled with Borussia Dortmund’s loss to Schalke in the Revierderby, Bayern are now 12 points clear of the defending champions.

Bayern Munich have won their first eight matches to start the season to set a new Bundesliga record.
It took 28 minutes, but Bayern got their breakthrough goal thanks to Mario Mandzukic. Franck Ribery dribbled into the area and sent in a low cross to the back of the area. Mandzukic slid in and poked the ball into the back of the net to give Bayern the 1-0 lead.
Luiz Gustavo added the second goal in the 36th minute. At least, I think Gustavo gets credit for it. Toni Kroos' free kick was met by the head of Thomas Müller. Düsseldorf goalkeeper Fabian Giefer dove for the ball, and it went off his hands toward Gustavo. I'm not sure whether the Brazilian ever actually touched the ball, but the goal was awarded to him.
Bayern continued their dominance in the second half, and Ribery was once again provider. He cut down the right flank before passing the ball out wide to Philipp Lahm. The ball was played back to Ribery, and he sent in a pass to Müller. The German international's shot beat Giefer to make it 3-0 after 55 minutes.
Just when it appeared that Düsseldorf was going to escape with only a 3-0 loss, Bayern hammered in two goals within a minute at the end of the match. Müller scored in the 86th minute on a cross by David Alaba, and Rafinha would score a minute later to make it 5-0 and complete the route.
