After being the only Bundesliga club to advance to the next round of the Europa League, Stuttgart were hoping to bring that momentum with them back to the Bundesliga and see their campaign turn around from the dump that it’s been in this season. They invited Nürnberg to the Mercedes Benz Arena and gave up a late goal in a 1-1 draw.
Stuttgart vs. Nürnberg: Final score 1-1, Der Club unbeaten in their last four
Nürnberg recovered after a poor first hour and managed to earn a point on the road against Stuttgart. They’re not unbeaten in their last four matches.

Stuttgart had the better of the play in the first half, but Raphael Holzhauser and Martin Harnik both failed in their attempt to beat Raphael Schäfer. The two sides went into the half scoreless.
The hosts came out energized to start the second half. They finally found a goal in the 51st minute. Schäfer made another save on Harnik, but this time the ball fell to the feet of Ibrahima Traore. The Guinean left no doubt and blasted his shot into the net to make it 1-0. Vedad Ibisevic almost made it 2-0 minutes later, but his shot missed the goal.
Nürnberg finally began to get back into the match, and they managed to grab their equalizer in the 77th minute. Timothy Chandler picked up his second equalizing assist in as many weeks, this time with a pass to Markus Feulner who beat Sven Ulreich.
The point lifts Nürnberg to nine points clear of the relegation zone and into 14th place. Stuttgart are five points out of a Europa League place on 29 points.
