The new Curry 6 colorway is a nod to a prank Steph pulled for his 21st birthday at Davidson

Since the Curry 6 dropped back in early January, Under Armour and Steph have continued to give us new looks and colorways that pay tribute to Oakland during the Warriors’ final season at Oracle Arena.

However, the latest colorway may be the most vibrant yet, and it’s about to drop before the All-Star Game in Charlotte, and Steph’s return to North Carolina.

The latest Curry 6 colorway is a nod to Steph’s prankster personality and a story from his college days at Davidson College, which is located north of Charlotte. For his 21st birthday, Curry and his teammates went to a Japanese steakhouse and decided, for better or worse, to jump into the koi fish pond at the restaurant. Curry distracted the waitress while his Davidson teammate, Steve Rossiter, jumped in to try and grab a fish. It was all for the jokes, but once Davidson head coach Bob McKillop found out about the prank, he forced Curry and his teammates to go back to the restaurant as greeters for four hours.

For the “Coy Fish” shoe’s design, it features neon palettes that are weaved throughout the bottom of the shoe as the knitted upper contains a bright yellow color. The latest colorway also has UA HOVR cushioning across the heel with a semi-translucent rubber outsole.
