The Duke Blue Devils were in control against the UConn Huskies for nearly the entirety of their Elite Eight matchup. Duke led by 19 points during the first half, it led by 10 points with six and half minutes left in regulation, and it led by two points with the ball with 10 seconds left.

Duke’s turnovers were the only thing that kept UConn in the game in the second half, and ultimately, it kept Blue Devils out of the Final Four.

UConn stunned Duke, 73-72, in an incredible comeback to reach their third Final Four in the last four years. They Huskies owe it all to freshman Braylon Mullins, whose deep three-pointer swished through the net for the game-winning shot with 0.3 seconds left.

UConn tipped a pass by Duke’s Cayden Boozer to cause a turnover on the Blue Devils’ final possession. Mullins lined up a 35-foot three-pointer just before the buzzer, and somehow he drained it. Watch Mullins’ iconic shot here.

What a meltdown for Duke. A year after losing in the Final four with the NBA’s two top rookies, Cooper Flagg and Kon Knueppel, Duke has an even bigger disaster on its hands. How will head coach Jon Scheyer ever live this down?

Duke had a Final Four berth in its hands, and it gave it away. UConn is going to Indianapolis for the Final Four, and Duke’s season is over.

This is a historic March Madness moment in every way. Duke’s pain is UConn’s gain. The Huskies are still dancing, and Duke is done.
