Kyle Anderson injury: UCLA guard suffers bone contusion in right wrist

UCLA guard Kyle Anderson suffered a bone contusion in his right wrist, and his status for Thursday’s game against James Madison is uncertain.

UCLA Bruins freshman guard Kyle Anderson suffered a bone contusion in his right wrist last night, and his status for Thursday's game against the James Madison Dukes is uncertain. The freshman played 33 minutes in UCLA's game against the UC Irvine Anteaters despite injuring his hand in the first half. Bruins coach Ben Howland told reporters that Anderson's X-rays came back negative.

Anderson is part of the team's highly touted freshman class, joined by Jordan Adams, Tony Parker and Shabazz Muhammad. Muhammad is currently unable to play because of ineligibility issues and key reserve Tyler Lamb might miss the game on Thursday with a sore knee, so the Bruins are already battling depth issues.

Anderson has been a solid contributor for UCLA in the first two games of the season, averaging 10 points per game while shooting 46.2% from the floor. The guard has also grabbed 17 rebounds in his first two games, including eight on the offensive glass.
