No. 12 Kansas vs. Washington State final score: Jayhawks demolish Cougars 78-41

The Kansas Jayhawks beat down the Washington State Cougars 78-41 in the CBE Classic semifinal.

The Kansas Jayhawks had virtually no trouble obliterating the Washington St. Cougars 78-41 in the semifinal of the CBE Classic. Kansas racked up a 50-21 lead at halftime and simply cruised from there.

Kansas managed nearly twice as many rebounds as Washington State (32 to 17), and the Jayahwks also added nine offensive boards to two for WSU. Washington State shot 27.4 percent from the field compared with 47.2 percent for Kansas. The Jayhawks managed to get to the free throw line 22 times compared with three for WSU, with Kansas hitting 20 of them.

Travis Releford shot 6-7 from the field, scoring 17 points. Perry Ellis added 12 points on 8-8 FT shooting. Ben McLemore added 11, and Elijah Johnson and Jeff Withey both put in eight points and five assists. Brock Motum led Washington State with 14 points and six rebounds.

Kansas will face St. Louis (who beat Texas A&M 70-49 earlier tonight) in the CBE Classic championship game Tuesday night.
