The 25th-ranked San Diego State Aztecs had no trouble blowing past the Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions, winning by a final score of 79-43. The Aztecs moved to 3-1 on the season.
The Aztecs only shot around 40% from the field and just over 50% from the free-throw line. But their defense was strong, as they held the Golden Lions to 30% on the dot. More importantly, San Diego State nailed 11 threes, while Arkansas-Pine Bluff managed zero. They also forced 15 turnovers and led by as many as 36 points throughout.
Jamaal Franklin led San Diego State with 15 points and 12 rebounds, and Chase Tapley contributed 15 points and four rebounds. Deshawn Stephens put in 11 points and 10 rebounds, with Skylar Spencer chipping in 12 points and five rebounds off the bench.
San Diego State doesn't play again until this Sunday, when they head up to Los Angeles to face the USC Trojans.
