No. 5 Duke vs. Minnesota final score: Blue Devils pull away for 89-71 win

Duke took down Minnesota in a Thanksgiving Day matchup.

The No. 5 Duke Blue Devils beat the Minnesota Golden Gophers, 89-71, in first-round action at the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament in the Bahamas on Thursday. Duke steadily wore down the Golden Gophers, and pulled away in the second half to notch the win.

Duke created separation midway through the first half with a 10-2 run that stretched their lead to 23-13. Minnesota could get no closer than six points the rest of the way as the Blue Devils cruised to the finish, slowly building their lead to as much as 18 at the end.

Mason Plumlee had a huge day for Duke, putting up 20 points and 17 rebounds, Seth Curry led all scores with 25 points on an efficient 8-of-11 shooting. The guard also had three assists with just one turnover. All five Duke starters finished in double figures.

Rodney Williams, Jr. led the way for Minnesota, scoring 16 points and grabbing seven boards.

The win moves Duke to 4-0, while the Golden Gophers drop to 4-1.
