Sean Woods could face disciplinary action for player confrontation

Morehead State head coach Sean Woods could be in trouble with the university for making contact with point guard Devon Atkinson.

Morehead State could discipline their men's college basketball coach after making inappropriate contact with one of his players. The Athletic department announced that Sean Woods could receive disciplinary action for his behavior toward point guard Devon Atkinson.

Atkinson fouled out with just under six minutes remaining in a contest between Morehead State and Kentucky. Woods then yelled at his senior as he returned to the bench and appeared to give him a shove in the back before proceeding to continuously berate him verbally through the timeout.

Woods has previously stated that he wants to fire up his team and treat basketball games as seriously as he has. This appears to have resulted in two heated altercations with players. The first came in a loss to Maryland, when Woods also appeared to go after center Chad Posthumus.

Morehead State lost both of those games where the altercations occurred, falling to Kentucky, 81-70, and Maryland, 67-45.
