Former college basketball coach Rick Majerus passed away on Saturday night, according to multiple reports, including the Twitter account of his former assistant, Porter Moser. The cause of death is not immediately known, but Majerus stepped away from his job as the coach of the Saint Louis Billikens this past August to deal with heart issues. He announced on Nov. 16 that he would not be returning. He was 64 years old.

Majerus was most famous for his tenure as the head coach of the Utah Utes. He held the job from 1989 to 2004, making the NCAA Tournament 10 times during that span. The high point of his career was when the Utes reached the NCAA National Championship Game in 1998, where they fell to Kentucky. He compiled a 323-95 record at Utah, and had a career record of 517-215 between stops at Marquette, Ball State, Utah, and St. Louis.

Majerus was also an assistant coach with the Milwaukee Bucks for one season, as well as assistant coach for the U.S. Men's National Team, winning a FIBA Gold Medal at the 1994 World Championships. He also spent several seasons working as an analyst for ESPN.
