The Georgetown Hoyas improved to 9-1 on Saturday afternoon, after defeating the Western Carolina Catamounts (4-7), 81-68.

Georgetown improved to 9-1 on Saturday afternoon, as the Hoyas defeated the Western Carolina Catamounts with ease, 81-68.


Georgetown was led by forward Greg Whittington, who posted a double-double in the win. Whittington scored 25 points while grabbing 12 rebounds.
Jabril Trawick added 14 points for the Hoyas. Trawick was a perfect two-for-two from three-point range. Otto Porter added 12 points and eight rebounds, while Markel Starks scored 10 points.
Western Carolina's offense went through Tom Tankelewicz, who scored 24 points for the Catamounts in the loss. Tankelewicz added four rebounds. Trey Sumler scored 11 points while dishing out four assists. Preston Ross was also in double-digits in scoring for the Catamounts, scoring 10 points.
Georgetown’s next contest will come next Saturday, Dec. 22, when the Hoyas play host to the American University Eagles. Western Carolina’s next game is on Friday, Dec. 21, as the Catamounts head to Tennessee to take on the Volunteers.
