Providence guard Vincent Council will return to the team on Friday when the Friars take on Brown. Council has been out with a hamstring tear, according to the Sporting News. He led the team in scoring a season ago, and his return means Providence will have a full rotation of scholarship players for the first time all season.
Providence star Vincent Council to return on Friday
The Friars will be getting back one of their top players.

Council played 93.4 percent of the available minutes in 2011-12, good for ninth-most in the country. He was a vital cog in the Providence offense, as he used over 28 percent of the possessions while he was on the floor and assisted on 43 percent of the baskets. His assist rate helped Council overcome some of his shooting limitations, as he posted just a 42.1 effective field goal percentage, including hitting only 42 percent on twos and 30 percent on threes.
With Council coming back from injury, his minutes will be limited, but increased gradually. Less responsibility may serve him well, as he was most efficient as a freshman when he posted his best offensive rating while using just under 22 percent of the possessions during his minutes on the court.
