The No. 4 Syracuse Orange handled the Long Beach State 49ers at home on Thursday night, 84-53, to remain unbeaten so far this season.

Syracuse didn’t have much trouble with Long Beach State on Thursday night as they cruised to an 84-53 victory at home to remain undefeated.


Syracuse shot 40.8 percent from the floor as a team and drilled 10 three-pointers. Five players scored in double digits. C.J. Fair had 16 points (on 6-of-10 shooting) and 13 rebounds while Michael Carter-Williams added 15 points (5-of-16 shooting), 10 assists and three steals. Trevor Cooney chipped in 11 points (4-of-9 shooting) off the bench.
With his 20 points on 7-of-13 shooting from the field, forward Dan Jennings led the 49ers, who shot only 29.2 percent as a team.
The 49ers barely had a chance from the outset, falling behind, 16-4, with just under six minutes played in the opening half. The Orange eventually built a 20-point lead going into halftime.
Syracuse hosts the Monmouth Hawks on Saturday night.
