The No. 16 Creighton Bluejays used their three-point shooting to easily take down in-state foe Nebraska Cornhuskers on Thursday night, 64-42. This was the first time that Creighton won in Lincoln since 2004. The Bluejays made 8 of 17 shots from beyond the arc for the night.

Creighton ran away with the game late in the first half when it went on a 12-4 run to go up by nine points with 4:46 left in the first half, and then took an 11-point lead at the break.

The Bluejays added to their lead in the second half as they went on an 11-2 run, which featured a trio of three-point shots, to go up 21 points.

While the offense was flowing for Creighton, the Bluejays’ defense also had a big game in slowing down Nebraska. While holding a team to 42 points is impressive enough, they held the Cornhuskers to just 32 percent from the field.

Creighton was led by Doug McDermott, who scored a game-high 27 points on 10-of-19 shooting, and Gregory Echenique chipped in with 12 points and 12 rebounds.
