The No. 16 Creighton Bluejays used their three-point shooting to easily take down in-state foe Nebraska Cornhuskers on Thursday night, 64-42. This was the first time that Creighton won in Lincoln since 2004. The Bluejays made 8 of 17 shots from beyond the arc for the night.

Creighton was able to get their first win against Nebraska inLincoln since 2004.


Creighton ran away with the game late in the first half when it went on a 12-4 run to go up by nine points with 4:46 left in the first half, and then took an 11-point lead at the break.
The Bluejays added to their lead in the second half as they went on an 11-2 run, which featured a trio of three-point shots, to go up 21 points.
While the offense was flowing for Creighton, the Bluejays’ defense also had a big game in slowing down Nebraska. While holding a team to 42 points is impressive enough, they held the Cornhuskers to just 32 percent from the field.
Creighton was led by Doug McDermott, who scored a game-high 27 points on 10-of-19 shooting, and Gregory Echenique chipped in with 12 points and 12 rebounds.
