Miami vs. Boston College final score: Hurricanes escape with 60-59 win

Miami, which began the year as a dark-horse candidate to win the ACC, is now 4-0 in conference play.

Michael Ivins-USA TODAY Sports

The Miami Hurricanes remained undefeated in conference play as they knocked off Boston College on Wednesday night, 60-59. The win moves Miami to 13-3 overall and 4-0 in the ACC.

The two schools took turns holding the lead in the second half. With 26 seconds left on the clock, Durand Scott toed the line and hit two crucial free throws to give Miami a 60-57 lead. With one second on the clock, Olivier Hanlan was fouled while shooting a three-pointer. He hit the first two free throws, but the third one, which would have tied the game, clanked out. The Hurricanes grabbed the rebound and the buzzer sounded.

Miami did not shoot the ball particularly well, hitting just 42 percent of their field goal attempts. They went 7-for-18 from behind the three-point arc and hit just nine of their 14 free throw attempts. Durand Scott led Miami with 15 points. Kenny Kadji added 14 points, while Trey McKinney Jones chipped in with 11.

Hanlan led Boston College with 17 points. Lonnie Jackson had 16 points, while Ryan Anderson added 11 points and six rebounds.
