Instead, thanks to some clutch three-point shooting late, Missouri survived with a 71-65 win over the Gamecocks. With Frank Martin’s team pressing, the Tigers got three pointers from Earnest Ross and Jabari Brown in the game’s final two minutes to seal the win.
Phil Pressey had one of his worst games all season, scoring only 6 points on 2-of-8 shooting while spending most of the game in foul trouble. What saved the Tigers was their work from their free-throw line, as they got 28 points from the charity stripe against a South Carolina team that couldn't match their size and athleticism upfront.
Missouri only has two more ranked opponents on their schedule the rest of the season, but after the way they played on Tuesday at home, they shouldn’t take any game for granted.
