The St. Louis Billikens shocked the No. 9 Butler Bulldogs on Thursday night, dominating the majority of the game on their way to a 75-58 upset victory at Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, Mo.

The two teams struggled to get their offenses going early, going back and forth for the first 12 minutes of the opening half. However, after Butler guard Rotnei Clarke's layup at the 8:17 mark made the score 14-12 in favor of St. Louis, the Billikens put together a 17-2 run over the next five minutes and jumped ahead, 31-14.

Butler answered with a 9-0 run of their own to cut the deficit to eight, but Jordair Jett’s three-pointer with 10 seconds remaining in the half gave St. Louis a double-digit lead heading into the break.

The Billikens (15-5, 4-2 Atlantic 10) continued their momentum in the second half, extending their lead to as many as 20 points, which represented the Bulldogs’ largest deficit of the season.

Jett finished with 19 points, which tied a career-high, off the bench for St. Louis. Dwayne Evans had 15 points, and Rob Loe pitched in 12.

Clarke led the Bulldogs (17-4, 4-2 Atlantic 10) with 17 points, and teammate Andrew Smith added 12 points and six rebounds.
