No. 14 Cincinnati fell victim to St. John’s on Saturday, failing to complete a comeback in a 53-52 defeat. The Red Storm out-scored Cincinnati by a 24-21 margin in the first half and got things started well in the final 20 minutes, but the Bearcats started to mount a comeback.

The Cincinnati Bearcats fell to the St. John’s Red Storm on Saturday, losing 53-52.

A 7-0 run in the final five minutes put the Bearcats back into the thick of things, but a D’Angelo Harrison jumper in the final 30 seconds put the Red Storm back on top.
Cashmere Wright led the way for the Bearcats, with 23 points off of 9-for-16 shooting from the field. He also managed to pull down 10 rebounds and had four steals. He didn't get much from his teammates, which accounted for much of Cincinnati's struggles.
Titus Rubles picked up 14 points off the bench, shooting 4-for-8, including 3-for-6 from three-point range. Cheikh Mbodi managed to pull down 10 rebounds.
For St. John’s, Jakarr Sampson had 16 points off of 5-for-15 shooting from the field. Harrison was just behind him with 15 points off of 7-for-17 shooting. In all, St. John’s shot 40.0 percent from the field, while Cincinnati managed a paltry 31.7 percent.
