Baylor made use of their dominant post play to defeat Charleston Southern, 69-64, on Wednesday. Center Isaiah Austin had 16 points, eight rebounds and five blocks in a monster effort against the Buccaneers. Charleston was able to hang tough against its ranked opponent, only down three with under two minutes to play.

Isaiah Austin dominated down low for Baylor, scoring 16 points and blocking five shots.


Charleston got a 7-0 run in the final minutes to get within a basket, but Kenny Cherry hit two Baylor free throws to put the game out of range for good.
Baylor guard Gary Franklin finished with eight points, five rebounds and four assists. He also hit two big baskets late in the second half to open up a nine-point lead. But it was Austin who was dominant, making five of his ten field goals and turning away five of Charleston's shot attempts. The Bears had ten blocks as a team, using their size to keep Charleston out of the lane.
The Buccaneers stayed in the game with three-point shooting, hitting nearly half of their 26 attempts. Guards Sheldon Strickland and Saah Nimley combined to hit seven triples on just ten attempts and score 25 points.
