Ohio State vs. American final score: No. 8 Buckeyes roll 63-52

Ohio State got a great game from Shannon Scott and seven steals from Aaron Craft.

After a grueling first half, No. 8 Ohio State did just enough to notch a comfortable 63-52 win over American. Guard Shannon Scott had 13 points and nine rebounds, just one board short of his first double-double of the season. The Buckeyes got a strong defensive effort in the game, improving their record to 4-0.

The first half was a defensive battle, with Ohio State entering the break up 28-23. The Buckeyes defense would be the one to crank it up in the second half, with Aaron Craft totaling eight steals in the contest. Ohio State had a season-high 18 steals and forced 27 Eagles turnovers. Big man Amir Williams led the Buckeyes with 16 points and chipped in seven rebounds in the win.

Jesse Reed led the way for American, hitting three of his five three-point attempts on his way to 15 points. Center Tony Wroblicky blocked four Buckeye shot attempts and added 14 points in the losing effort.
