College basketball schedule: Louisville, North Carolina take part in Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament

A handful of big programs will see action Saturday, with six ranked teams facing unranked opponents.

With the likelihood of North Carolina and Louisville meeting in Sunday’s final, the Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament saves this weekend’s action from being completely lackluster,

Top 25 teams in action

Oklahoma vs. No. 1 Michigan St., truTV (9:30 p.m. ET)

The Spartans looked every bit the best team in the country in a romp over Virginia Tech. Oklahoma played a much closer game, edging out Seton Hall, 85-84, after the Pirates fell apart in the final minute. The Sooners will get a chance to measure themselves again top-ranked Michigan State, who is looking to finish the weekend 6-0. As the final of the 2013 Coaches vs. Cancer Classic, the game will be played at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

No. 3 Louisville vs. Fairfield, ESPN3 (2 p.m. ET)

Rolling through the non-conference season, Louisville looks to stay undefeated against Fairfield. A win over the 1-3 Stags will likely propel the Cardinals into a matchup against North Carolina in the Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament. Russ Smith is poised to be the talk of the four-team tourney, entering Saturday averaging 18.8 points per game. Montrezl Harrell has assumed the No. 2 duties for Rick Pitino's team, nearly averaging a double-double through four games with 14 points and 9.3 rebounds.

Nicholls St. vs. No. 11 Memphis, ESPN3 (6 p.m. ET)

Coming off a shellacking at the hands of Marcus Smart and Oklahoma State, Memphis will look to regain focus against a winless mid-major. As one of the best rebounding teams in the country, the Tigers shouldn't have a problem putting away Nicholls St. early. Their next real test isn't until Dec. 17 when Memphis plays the Florida Gators, who could be getting back one or both of their suspended players by that time.

No. 12 Wisconsin vs. Oral Roberts, Big Ten Network (8:30 p.m. ET)

Wisconsin has been one of the more impressive teams to start the season, taking care of Florida and St. John's on its way to a 5-0 start. Bo Ryan once again has his team playing tough defense and shooting threes, which will come in handy when the Big Ten schedule starts in January. Don't expect Frank Kaminsky to score 43 points again like he did against North Dakota, but keep an eye on the Badgers as the season progresses.

Tulsa vs. No. 23 Creighton, FSN (3:30 p.m. ET)

All-American Doug McDermott hasn't scored fewer than 20 points in any of Creighton's three games this season. Expect the senior to lead the nation in scoring and lead Creighton back to the NCAA Tournament. Tulsa is playing its second straight ranked opponent, having lost to Wichita St., 77-54, on Wednesday.

No. 24 North Carolina vs. Richmond, ESPN3 (Noon ET)

Reeling from an 83-80 upset against Belmont, North Carolina continues to struggle without last year's leading scorer P.J. Hairston. Next up is Richmond, who will look to pile on one of the NCAA's premier programs. The Spiders beat Belmont in their Nov. 11 meeting, something Richmond players surely won't let James Michael McAdoo and Marcus Paige forget on Saturday.
