Michigan State vs. North Florida final score: No. 5 Spartans rout Ospreys in 30-point win

Drama wasn’t much a part of Michigan State’s game Tuesday.

The No. 5 Michigan State Spartans never trailed Tuesday, getting double-figures scoring from four players in a 78-48 win over the North Florida Ospreys.

The Spartans (9-1) scored the first basket and never trailed. They started the game on a 10-2 run, and once Michigan State took a 16-4 lead on a pair of Keith Appling free throws with 14:23 left in the first half, the Spartans' lead never dipped below 10 points. They led 50-19 at halftime.

Michigan State was 54 percent from the floor, and it held the Ospreys (5-7) to 30.2 percent from the floor. Michigan State also forced 15 turnovers (10 of which were Michigan State steals) and held North Florida to 4-of-25 shooting from 3-point range.

Adreian Payne led the Spartans with 19 points and seven rebounds. Michigan State has a trip to face the Texas Longhorns on Saturday and a home game against New Orleans on Dec. 28 to close out its non-conference schedule.
