Oklahoma State vs. Delaware State final score: PG Marcus Smart quiet in 75-43 win
For once, Marcus Smart had little to do with Oklahoma State’s success.
It was his sixth game under 10 points in 44 career games, and three of those games were in his first seven as a freshman last season. He finished Tuesday with five points in 31 minutes, shooting 2-of-6 from the floor and 1-of-3 from 3-point range. For the first time in his career, he did not attempt any free throws.
Smart also had four rebounds and four assists.
Kendal Williams made a three for the Hornets to close the score to 8-7 with 14:41 to play in the first half, but they went scoreless over the next eight minutes as Oklahoma State scored 14 points unanswered.
Oklahoma State’s defense held the Hornets to 29.1 percent shooting and forced 17 turnovers.
Le’Bryan Nash led the Cowboys with 16 points in 39 minutes.
