Arizona vs. Texas Tech final score: Wildcats clobber Red Raiders, 79-58

Texas Tech had no answers for the second-best team in the country.

Aaron Gordon and the rest of the Arizona Wildcats bullied the Texas Tech Red Raiders into submission on Tuesday night in a 79-58 win.

Gordon scored 10 of his career-high 19 points in the first half to help the Wildcats take a 35-25 lead into the locker room. Things didn’t get any easier for the Red Raiders. Arizona came out in the second half firing on all cylinders, hitting four of its first five shots as a 12-4 run put the game out of reach.

The Red Raiders had no answers for the Wildcats’ size down low. Arizona out-rebounded Texas Tech 43-23. The Wildcats were especially aggressive on the offensive glass, grabbing 17 offensive rebounds, which they turned into eight second-chance points.

Brandon Ashley and Nick Johnson provided the rest of the firepower for the Wildcats, scoring 18 points apiece. T.J. McConnell kept things running smoothly at the point, finishing with 10 assists -- one more than Texas Tech had as a team. Everything was working for the Wildcats in the game, except their free throw shooting. They left a few points on the line, going just 19-for-33.
