Iowa vs. Nebraska final score: Hawkeyes stifle Cornhuskers, 67-57

It was an ugly affair for both teams to close out the game as the Hawkeyes stayed undefeated at home.

The No. 22 Iowa Hawkeyes hit their free throws when the shots weren't falling to close out the game and hold off the Nebraska Cornhuskers, 67-57, on Tuesday night.

Roy Devyn Marble scored 15 for Iowa as the Hawkeyes improved to 9-0 at home. The Hawkeyes led for most of the game, stretching the lead to 20 points with eight minutes left. From there the offense went a bit cold, something that normally doesn't happen. Iowa is the fourth highest scoring team in the nation at 88.7 points per game.

Iowa wouldn't make a field goal for the rest of the game, scoring its final 12 points off of free throws. In the meantime, Nebraska cut the lead down to five points with one minute left as Deverell Biggs led the charge. He scored eight of his 12 points in the second half, but couldn't help Nebraska over the hump and fouled out with 33 seconds remaining.

The Hawkeyes gave Nebraska plenty of opportunities to make it even closer. Iowa was just 22-of-39 from the free throw line, including 12-of-18 in the final eight minutes of the game. The Cornhuskers had an atrocious shooting night, though, and couldn’t capitalize -- they hit just 29.9 percent from the floor.

Terran Petteway led Nebraska with his first double-double of the season, scoring 20 points and grabbing 12 rebounds.
