No. 13 Kansas State vs. West Virginia final score: Wildcats defeat Mountaineers, 71-61

West Virginia head coach Bob Huggins was greeted rudely by Kansas State in his return to Manhattan on Monday.

Bob Huggins' return to Bramlage Coliseum did not go well, as Will Spradling tied his career high with 19 points to lift the No. 13 Kansas State Wildcats to a 71-61 victory over the West Virginia Mountaineers on Monday.

While the game marked the third time Huggins faced his former team, Monday was his first trip back to Manhattan, Kan. since the 2006-07 season, Huggins' only year at the helm of the Wildcats. Kansas State welcomed him back to town rudely, first by not acknowledging him during introductions, then by giving his Mountaineers a beating despite not getting a great performance from its best player.

Rodney McGruder struggled from the field for the second consecutive game, but Spradling stepped up by making 5-of-9 field goal attempts en route to leading the Wildcats in scoring. Spradling and Kansas State (21-5, 10-3 Big 12) jumped out to a 16-4 lead, then increased its first-half lead to as many as 18 points. Huggins boiled on the bench, notching a technical foul and jawing at his players regularly.

Deniz Kilicli finished with 16 points on 6-of-8 shooting for West Virginia (13-13, 6-7 Big 12).
