Duke Blue Devils forward Ryan Kelly hopes to play in the team's home finale against the Virginia Tech Hokies on March 5, USA Today reports.

As a senior on Mike Kryzewski’s squad, it’s not surprising that Kelly hopes to return for “Senior Night,” his last chance to ever take the court at Cameron Indoor Stadium in uniform. The Duke coach insists that Kelly will be back soon, but he’s also avoided specifying exactly what that might mean.

Since injuring his right foot on Jan. 8 in a game against the Clemson Tigers, Kelly has missed 12 games due to the injury. Without his scoring ability, size and experience, the team has clearly suffered as its gotten through its conference schedule.

With Kelly in the lineup, the Blue Devils were 15-0 this season, including wins over Kentucky, Minnesota, Louisville, Ohio State and VCU. Since the injury, the team has gone 9-3, losing to N.C. State, Miami and Maryland. All three of the losses were on the road, where Kelly’s experience could’ve given his teammates a significant boost.

In 15 games before the injury this season, Kelly averaged 13.4 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.7 blocks in 28.3 minutes per contest.
