Tennessee forward Kenny Hall arrested

A disappointing college hoops season in Knoxville got that much worse on Tuesday morning following Hall’s arrest.

USA TODAY Sports

Tennessee Volunteers senior forward Kenny Hall was arrested for driving on a suspended license on Tuesday morning. According to a report from Sporting News, Hall was pulled over by a Knox County officer after driving 70 mph in a 55 mph zone. He was then arrested and charged after presenting a suspended license.

This is not the first time Hall has had off-the-court issues at Tennessee. Last season, he missed 19 games for breaking team rules. A statement has not been released by Hall, head coach Cuonzo Martin or the University of Tennessee as of Tuesday evening.

This season, Hall is the Vols’ second-leading rebounder at 5.3 boards a game. He’s averaging 6.6 points in about 23 minutes a night. On Saturday, Hall tied a season-high with 14 points in a losing effort against Arkansas.

Hall’s disappointing performance on the court has been reflective of UT; for a team many thought would compete for an NCAA Tournament bid, the Volunteers are 11-9 on the season with a 3-5 mark against SEC foes. A trip to the NIT or CIT seems likely unless a sudden turnover occurs.
