The Kansas St. Wildcats continued their roll through the Big 12 on Tuesday night with a 68-59 road win over Texas Tech. The No. 13 Wildcats moved out to an early lead and maintained it throughout despite a couple of runs from the Red Raiders midway through the second half.

The Red Raiders held tough for 40 minutes, but the Wildcats were able to avoid the upset with a strong defensive performance.

Rodney McGruder led Kansas State with 18 points and nine rebounds. Four players reached double digits in scoring for the Wildcats, including Thomas Gipson, who had 12 off the bench. As a team, the 'Cats shot 44 percent from the field and turned the ball over just eight times.
Texas Tech fought hard for 40 minutes, but they were unable to get over the early hole they dug themselves into. Jordan Tolbert had a game-high 19 points and five rebounds, while Dejan Kravic had 12 points and six boards off the bench. The Raiders were just 3-for-12 on their three-point attempts.
The win improves KSU to 7-2 in conference play and 17-4 overall. It appeared Kansas was going to run away with the conference title, but their recent loss to Oklahoma State keeps the Wildcats in the hunt.
