No. 2 Florida vs. Mississippi State final score: Gators roll at home, 83-58

Once again it was the seniors who led the way for Florida. Mike Rosario and Erik Murphy combined for 35 points to lead the Gators to an 83-58 win over Mississippi State Saturday evening in Gainesville.

In a tough week for top-five teams, the No. 2 Florida Gators restored some sanity to the college basketball world Saturday evening by rolling past the Mississippi State Bulldogs, 83-58 in Gainseville.

For Florida, it was once again the senior duo of Mike Rosario and Erik Murphy, who led five Gators in double figures. The guard Rosario has 18 points on 7 of 10 shooting, while the big man Murphy had 17 points, including three makes from beyond the arc.

Michael Frazier III, Kenny Boynton and Casey Prather were also in double figures to help the balanced Florida offense.

Florida used an 11-0 run midway through the first half to provide some distance and never allowed the Bulldogs back into the game. The lead was 42-26 by halftime and grew to 25 points in the second half as the Gators continued to roll.

Gavin Ware did his best to keep his team in the game with 16 points to lead Mississippi State, but it was not enough. The Bulldogs' 16 turnovers and Florida's efficient offense were too much to handle. The Gators shot 53.4 percent for the game and had 21 assists to just eight turnovers.
