Pac-12 tournament bracket update: UCLA, Arizona move on to semis
Let’s take a look at the early games in the Pac-12 tournament.
No. 1 UCLA Bruins 80, No. 9 Arizona State Sun Devils 75
The Bruins were in trouble for most of this game. ASU jumped out to a 41-33 halftime lead and seemed in a prime position to revive their bubble picture. However, UCLA stormed back in the second half, led by Shabazz Muhammad and Larry Drew II. A 17-4 run gave the Bruins the lead with five minutes left, and they held on in the end to send the Sun Devils packing. UCLA will face Arizona in the semifinals on Friday.
No. 4 Arizona Wildcats 79, No. 5 Colorado Buffaloes 69
The Wildcats held off a late-game surge by Colorado to advance to the semifinals. Arizona led by as many as 14 points in the second half, but a Buffaloes rally cut the deficit to just two points with one minute. That was all they managed, however, as Arizona finished the game with an 8-0 run. Nick Johnson led with 18 points and Solomon Hill grabbed seven rebounds. The Wildcats will face UCLA on Friday.
