The Big 12 tournament wraps up Saturday, and it features two teams with nothing much to gain or lose.
Big 12 basketball tournament 2013 schedule and bracket: Kansas, Kansas State to square off in final
One team from Kansas will earn the Big 12’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament on Saturday evening.
The top-seeded Kansas Jayhawks will tip off against the No. 2 seed Kansas State Wildcats at 6 p.m ET. The game provides almost no drama in relation to the NCAA tournament. The winning team will add another quality win to its CV, which could help their case in terms of seeding on Selection Sunday.
Saturday will be the third meeting this season between the two rivals, and the Jayhawks won both previous match-ups: first, a 59-55 win on the road on Jan. 22, then a 83-62 beatdown at home on Feb. 11. The two teams tied for the Big 12 regular-season championship, but the tournament’s top seed was given to Kansas on the basis of its head-to-head record with the Wildcats.
Kansas reached the title game with wins over the Texas Tech Red Raiders and the Iowa State Cyclones, who are projected at CBSsports.com's latest full bracket predictions to be a No. 10 seed in the Big Dance. The Wildcats beat the Texas Longhorns and Oklahoma State Cowboys to reach the final.
The game will air at 6 p.m. ET on ESPN. Click here to view the full bracket.
