The 2013 NCAA Tournament’s West Regional will terminate in Los Angeles, and Gonzaga, the best college basketball team west of the Rockies this year, is the region’s No. 1 seed.
NCAA Tournament 2013 bracket: West Region topped by Gonzaga
Gonzaga’s best season in program history earned it the first No. 1 seed in program history.

The Bulldogs compiled a 28-2 record and won the West Coast Conference’s regular season and tournament titles, lost only to Butler and Illinois, and took the No. 1 spot in the national polls for the first time in program history in 2012-13. For their reward, they get a short trip to San Jose, a prospective jaunt down the coast from Spokane to L.A. for Sweet Sixteen and Elite Eight games, and a regional with No. 2 Ohio State, No. 3 New Mexico, and No. 4 Kansas State.
"Justice has been served," CBS' Seth Davis said. Greg Anthony agreed, calling the Zags' selection a "historic moment."
