Oregon vs. Saint Louis: Ducks fans excited by surprise run in 2013 NCAA Tournament

The Oregon Ducks have impressed their fans so far with their impressive run in the NCAA Tournament.

USA TODAY Sports

The No. 12 Oregon Ducks have pulled off two upsets in the 2013 NCAA Tournament, winning their first game against the No. 5 Oklahoma St. Cowboys and their second game against the No. 4 Saint Louis Billikens.

The surprising run has Ducks fans excited about their team. David Piper at Addicted to Quack summed up his thoughts quite succinctly after the game, writing:

SWEET SIXTEEN BABY! How about that!

Piper has been particularly impressed with the contributions from two different players, as he singled out Damyean Dotson and Arsalan Kazemi for praise:

Arsalan Kazemi has dominated both games with his rebounding and, oh yeah, DOT IS HOT.

Jake Tabor had a more in-depth postgame analysis later in the night. He believed the team’s performance was as much about its defense as it was contributions from individual players, at Saint Louis only scored 19 points in the first half and 57 overall. Tabor noted the team’s impressive defense, writing:

The Ducks used a combination of defenses to flummox the Billikens on offense, not making a three in the first and finishing the game 3-27 from behind the arc.
