2013 CBI bracket results: The semifinals are set

The CBI quarterfinals had plenty of action on Monday night, as two of the games went into overtime and no game was decided by double digits.

USA TODAY Sports

The CBI Tournament got a little bit of the March Madness bug on Monday night, as two of the four games went into overtime.

George Mason and Western Michigan each pulled off overtime wins, while Santa Clara slipped by Purdue and Wright State took down Richmond to advance to the semifinals.

George Mason 88, Houston 84

Byron Allen missed two shots in the waning seconds, and Houston was able to come back from a seven-point deficit to force overtime. But Houston’s shot went cold in overtime and George Mason advanced behind Sherrod Wright’s 29 points.

Santa Clara 86, Purdue 83

Kevin Foster went to town with 34 points off 11-of-24 shooting, as Purdue couldn't muster enough firepower to pull off the win. Ronnie Johnson and Terone Johnson led the Boilermakers with 27 and 22 points, respectively, but no other Boilermaker scored in double digits.

Wright State 57, Richmond 51

Miles Dixon scored 14 points, and Jerran Young added 13, as the Raiders had just enough offense to end the Richmond Spiders' run in the CBI Tournament. Wright State went on a 12-3 run over the final five minutes to close out the win.

Western Michigan 75, Wyoming 67

David Brown scored six of his 17 points in overtime, and four Broncos scored in double figures, as Western Michigan outlasted the Wyoming Cowboys on Monday. All five starters for the Cowboys scored in double figures, but they went just 3-for-10 in overtime in the loss.
