CIT basketball tournament 2013 results: East Carolina, Weber State advance to finals

The 2013 CollegeInsider.com Tournament final is set.

The 2013 CollegeInsider.com Tournament semi-finals took place on Saturday, with the East Carolina Pirates and the Weber St. Wildcats clinching their spots in the tournament final.

The Pirates dominated their semi-final matchup, defeating the Evansville Aces 81-51 at home. East Carolina played stifling defense, holding Evansville to 32 percent shooting from the floor. The Pirates received strong contributions from their starters, as four out of their five starters scored in double-digits. Maurice Kemp led the team with 20 points and 12 rebounds, while Miguel Paul added 19 points and 11 assists.

The Wildcats played in a much tighter game, but survived with a 59-56 victory over the Northern Iowa Panthers. Weber State held the Panthers to 37 percent shooting from the field, including 17 percent from behind the three-point arc. Frank Otis posted a double-double for the Wildcats, scoring 13 points and grabbing 11 rebounds.

East Carolina and Weber State will meet in the CIT championship on Tuesday, April 2. The game will tip-off at 8 p.m. ET, with CBS Sports Network covering the final live.
